Glenn Beck's Challenge for Americans after the AZ Tragedy

posted Jan 10, 2011 6:02 PM by K. Phillips   [ updated Jan 10, 2011 6:04 PM ]

I denounce violence, regardless of ideological motivation.
I denounce anyone, from the Left, the Right or middle, who believes physical violence is the answer to whatever they feel is wrong with our country.
I denounce those who wish to tear down our system and rebuild it in their own image, whatever that image may be.
I denounce those from the Left, the Right or middle, who call for riots and violence as an opportunity to bring down and reconstruct our system.
I denounce violent threats and calls for the destruction of our system – regardless of their underlying ideology – whether they come from the Hutaree Militia or Frances Fox Piven.
I hold those responsible for the violence, responsible for the violence.  I denounce those who attempt to blame political opponents for the acts of madmen.
I denounce those from the Left, the Right or middle that sees violence as a viable alternative to our long established system of change made within the constraints of our constitutional Republic.

I will stand with anyone willing to sign that pledge.  Today I make a personal choice.  I urge leaders of both sides and all walks of life to join me as all Americans joined hands on 9.12.2001.

Tea Party Express Chairwoman Amy Kremer statement following the AZ attack:

posted Jan 9, 2011 3:44 PM by K. Phillips   [ updated Jan 14, 2011 11:55 AM ]

"These heinous crimes have no place in America, and they are especially grievous when committed against our elected officials. Spirited debate is desirable in our country, but it only should be the clash of ideas," Kremer said in a statement. "An attack on anyone for political purposes, if that was a factor in this shooting, is an attack on the democratic process. We join with everyone in vociferously condemning it."

Tea Party Patriots Statement after the AZ Tragedy:

Please pray for Congresswoman Giffords and the shooting victims and their families. Please also pray for the safety of Congressmen, Senators, President Obama and other elected officials in the aftermath of this shooting.

The Richmond Tea Party is shocked and saddened by the shooting of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and others attending the congresswoman’s event in Arizona today. Our prayers go out to all the victims and their families. We also pray that the law enforcement officials are able to apprehend anyone connected to this tragedy and bring them to justice.

The Virginia Tea Party Patriot Federation members wish to express our deepest sympathies to all those affected by the violence in Tucson today. The shooting of Gabrielle Giffords and other innocents is strongly condemned. There is absolutely no place for violent acts in American politics.

Our prayers and best wishes are... offered to all those who are suffering from this senseless tragedy.

    Mark Kevin Lloyd - Chairman

Immediate Release (Palm Beach Gardens, FL) South Florida Tea Party (SFTP) and Florida Tea Party Patriots (FLTPP) are shocked and horrified at the shooting of Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and 17 other people that were shot today at an event near Tucson.

SFTP & FLTPP consider the shooting today as the actions of a mad man. We,as Americans, must not tolerate these irrational and heinous acts of mad men. Single acts of violence of crazy people should not be considered the general rule of how citizens communicate with their elected officials. We must remember this is an exception to the how Americans interact with their elected officials.

SFTP & FLTPP call on all community leaders to condemn violence and assist people in seeking help who they come into contact with that may be having violent thoughts toward themselves or others.

SFTP & FLTPP condemn all violent rhetoric and has a zero tolerance toward violence. The tea party has consistently condemned statements and acts of violence both on the right and left. It was just last year that SFTP and tea party groups condemned the violent threats and actions of the fake political TEA Party headed by Doug Guetzloe, Fred O'Neil, and Peg Dunmire. Tea party leaders all over the Florida stand united against the bulling attempts of the fake political TEA Party.

Virginia Bill Asks For Tea Party License Plate

    posted Nov 13, 2010 6:15 AM by K. Phillips

"Don't Tread On Me" soon may become an oft-used expression on Virginia roads.

A state lawmaker is proposing a bill to create a license plate for Virginians to express solidarity with the spirit of the Tea Party movement.

At the request of constituents, Henrico County Republican Del. John O'Bannon has filed legislation to establish a "Don't Tread On Me" license plate.

The plate features the rattlesnake emblem and yellow background of the historic Gadsden Flag, which has become a symbol for the Tea Party movement.

The Virginian-Pilot reports that about 600 people have expressed interest in the plates through a group tied to the Virginia Tea Party Patriots federation.

Before a specialty plate can be issued in Virginia, 350 prepaid applications must be submitted to the state Department of Motor Vehicles. Virginia has issued more than 200 different specialty plates over the years.

According to 912RichmondVa.com, it would cost $10 extra for a standard "Don't Tread On Me" plate and an extra $20 for a personalized version.

The "application form" that the website is collecting can be found here.

Virginia isn't the only state considering adding a Tea Party plate.  Texas is pondering the same thing.

    Anti-Violence Statement from VTPPF

    posted Mar 25, 2010 1:18 PM by K. Phillips

The Virginia Tea Party does not suggest, condone, promote, incite, overlook or tolerate acts of violence towards any persons or property. The Tea Party movement believes in, and abides by the rule of law as embodied in the Constitution of the United States. It is that very Constitution which provides for the proper and peaceful means for the expression of political opinion and the transition of political power.

The Virginia Tea Party regards any reported incidents of violence or destruction of property very seriously. The Virginia Tea Party however does not engage in unproductive speculation or rush to judgment. The Virginia Tea Party relies on the results of an official investigation by authorities before issuing a specific statement relative to any reported incident.

In the meantime, we strongly encourage all individuals concerned about any reported incidents to rely solely on reliable factual information before forming an opinion. To do otherwise, we believe, would not serve to foster an atmosphere of civil discourse and responsible actions beneficial to all.

    Send Stupak 30 Dimes

Thirty dimes as 30 pieces of silver sounds about right to make our point to the lying Judas Stupak

    March 22, 2010, 7:08 am

    By Kevin “Coach” Collins

For weeks we were told Michigan’s Bart Stupak was leading a group of pro life Democrats in resisting the certain federal taxpayer funding of abortion in Barack Obama’s health care scheme. For weeks we watched as the little band of men and women first held fast and presented an insurmountable obstacle to the process, then began to melt, then were reduced to half their original number and finally “reach a historic agreement” with Obama as they did yesterday. It was all show business. Stupak was merely playing Obama for whatever he could get.

Rank and file pro life Democrats, you were fooled

Pro life Democrats, especially the blue collar adherent Catholics who delude themselves into believing there is such an animal as a genuine pro life Democrat, have to face facts: You were fooled there are NO pro life Democrats. One can’t be a good Democrat and a good Catholic, but only one or the other.

    Stupak lied!

In the dust and fury of the past few days the brazenly cynical Mr. Stupak showed his middle finger to you. On Friday afternoon when it was sure to be lost in the noise, Stupak announced his price and it was a rather cheap one befitting the character of the man himself. His envelop held just $726,409 for improving three airports in his district. So there you have it, you were suckered.

    Giving Judas what he deserves

Now it’s our turn to “slip a little something” to this sticky fingered Judas.

Since he’ll now be in a tough re-election fight he’ll need donations. I will be sending him my contribution of thirty dimes which will serve as the 30 pieces of silver his model settled for at:

    Congressman Bart Stupak 1229 W. Washington St. Marquette, MI 49855 (906) 228 3700

    Not the only ones fooled

Rank and file Democrats were not the only ones fooled by Judas Stupak. The anti abortion/ pro life Susan B. Anthony group which had awarded Stupak its “Defender of Life” award multiple times has declared him no longer pro life and rescinded its recognition of him a pro life hero.

As the days unfold we will find out that the other phony “pro life” Democrats that stood with him were paid off in one way or the other as well. While each of them deserves an envelope with 30 dimes, that money is better spent on beating them. Sending Stupak his envelop will make our point.

Remember: In this life you may have repose or you may have knowledge, but you may not have both.

All of us now have the knowledge. It is for each of us to stand up and fight because of the knowledge we have.

AG Ken Cuccinelli to file suit

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli made a statement regarding the intention of the Commonwealth of Virginia to file suit against the federal government over the health care reform bill passed by the Congress.

The bottom line is this: If Virginia's Attorney General, Ken Cuccinelli can prove that this massive overreach of Federal authority is, indeed, unconstitutional you and millions of Americans will not have to worry about a federal takeover of the healthcare system and the consequences that will likely ensue. We are asking for support from all over the country!
Nothing is more important right now than an overwhelming push for support for Ken Cuccinelli to send a powerful message to Washington.

You can support Attorney General Cuccinelli's efforts to protect the Constitution by forwarding this petition to five of your closest friends today.  The petition can be found at www.Cuccinelli.com!

Videos: What really happened in DC! The truth.

Americans are deeply offended by the smear campaign that the left is waging against citizens who exercise their Constitutional rights to peaceably assemble, against the Reps who support us and our constitutional rights, and any citizen who steps out and speaks up.  The problem is that most Americans were not in DC for the healthcare protest and have no choice but to trust the media and politicians to describe the event.  The problem is: they lie, plain and simple!  However, we were there for 100% of the event, and have produced two quality videos defending the character of Tea Party activism against the smear campaign.  We must spread these across America to combat the left-wing hateful smear campaign of some of America's greatest citizens; Patriotic Tea Partiers!

Who Will Lead the TEA Party?

    posted Feb 26, 2010 4:55 AM by K. Phillips

By Mike Church and Larrey Anderson  February 25, 2010
What kinds of people can we expect to step up as actual candidates from the new grassroots movement, the TEA Party? The original Boston Tea Party ignited the first American Revolution, and a comparison with how the leaders of that crusade emerged[i] might prove instructive.

For our purposes, the captains of the founding of the United States can be divided into two groups:

    1) Those Founders who served in some public capacity before the beginning of the American Revolution.

    2) Those Founders who became politically active after the Revolutionary War.

(Keep in mind that the American Revolution was kicked off by the various Committees of Correspondence [COC] that first appeared in 1772. More than a decade lapsed from the time the Declaration of Independence was issued in 1776 until the adoption of the Constitution in 1787.)

Let's begin with the senior leaders of the Revolution (#1 above). Many of these leaders were, in effect, local elected officials who grew weary of being ignored by the central government (the British Parliament).

When Virginia patriots, including Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, Richard Henry Lee, and the little-known Dabney Carr met at the Raleigh tavern in Williamsburg on 3 March 1775, the idea for a "committee of correspondence" was hatched. (As we indicated above, similar committees had been previously used for mutual concerns.) Like today's Tea Partiers, these men were united in opposition to Parliament's usurpations of their liberties.

It is an interesting coincidence that the first statement Carr made in Virginia's House of Burgesses to propose the COC was

Whereas, the minds of his Majesty's faithful subjects in this colony have been much disturbed, by various rumours and reports of proceedings tending to deprive them of their ancient, legal, and constitutional rights [ii].

Carr was referring to the English Constitution of 1688 and more abstractly to English common law. From this statement we can safely draw a parallel: Today's Tea Partiers cherish their constitutional rights as passionately as their famous forerunners did.

The Virginians, whose success caught the attention of the royally appointed governor Lord Dunmore, were all barred from the House of Burgesses. Dunmore called for new elections, and all but four of the expelled Burgesses were reelected. Thus most of the men we call (the senior) Founders today were not agitated citizens protesting their government, but the most accomplished statesmen of their day. They were the equivalent of our finest state legislators, mayors, city councilmen, etc.

These senior Founding Fathers were tired of being ignored, harassed, and even abused by the central government in faraway England. The Declaration of Independence was, in effect, a list of grievances from the members of the local governments (in the Colonies) to the central government (in England) saying, "Enough!"[iii].

The election of Scott Brown (a state senator) to the U.S. Senate (the central government) parallels this discontent of the senior Founding Fathers. TEA Party members from across the country supported Brown's campaign.

What too many Americans do not understand is that the Constitution gives far greater powers to the states than it does to the federal government. Both Houses of Congress are severely limited in their enumerated powers by Article I, Section 8 of the Constitution and by the 9th and 10th Amendments. The fact that in the last 95 years, the Congress has ignored those restrictions is a huge part of what is fueling the flames of the present TEA Party revolution.

Whether or not Scott Brown is aware of this fact (or if he will just become another RINO) has yet to be seen. History is not on the side of Brown -- as a member of Congress that routinely ignores all limitations on its power -- becoming a staunch defender of the 10th Amendment.

This means that one of the jobs of the TEA Party will be to act as a kind of "term limits" organization. The TEA Party should not hesitate to support candidates against incumbents who have run on the platform of limited federal government and then have turned their backs on their commitments. There is already a vast pool of potential challengers, who currently hold office at the local and state levels, who would be perfect for the job. (Co-author Mike Church has interviewed a number of such challengers on his radio program. See here, here, and here.)

Now we move on to group #2 above. Some of the important Founding Fathers were either too young to be involved in the early COCs and/or were young soldiers involved in the Revolutionary War. Alexander Hamilton, James Monroe, and John Marshall fit this description.

The point about group #2 is that there are natural leaders in the current TEA Party that will continue to emerge over time. Some of them may come from the military, since our soldiers know better than most the meaning of the words in the oath that they take when they enlist into the armed services:

I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same ... [Emphasis added.]

To "bear true faith and allegiance" to the Constitution -- that is what the TEA Party is all about.

This new crop of candidates must not back down from challenging incumbents in either political party. Elected officials who have ignored their own oath to the Constitution must be replaced.

This would include primary challenges to elected officials in the GOP who have strayed off the constitutional course. And the Republican Party, if it is to remain a viable political party, must welcome -- rather than discourage -- such challenges.

As Newsmax.com reported Dick Armey's speech to CPAC:

"Let's not leave them [the GOP] to their own devices," said Dick Armey, former House majority leader and now chairman of FreedomWorks, a prime mover of the tea party phenomenon. Republicans "must come to us and show us they're worthy of our loyalty. We don't owe them."

What is owed by every freedom-loving American is true faith and allegiance to the Constitution -- and the republicanism that drove our Founding Fathers. Let the new American Revolution begin.

Mike Church is a talk show host for Sirius/XM and is the writer/director of the docudrama "The Spirit of 76." Larrey Anderson is a writer, philosopher, and submissions editor for American Thinker. He is the author of The Order of the Beloved, and the memoir Underground.

[i] Few (perhaps none) of the prominent leaders of the American Revolution took part in the actual "tea party" in Boston harbor in December of 1773. In this article, we are comparing where the leadership came from for the first American Revolution (and the subsequent creation of the Constitution) to where the leadership might come from in this new American Revolution that is called the TEA Party.

[ii] Dabney Carr was Thomas Jefferson's brother-in-law. Carr died from an unknown illness a few months after making this statement.

[iii] Here are a few of the grievances from the Declaration of Independence:
He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.
